Sofia Moisiadou

Educator, MSc in Adult Education, PhD Candidate at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th.)

I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Political Sciences at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. My doctoral research focuses on the democratic citizenship in education within the framework of the Freinet Network of Thessaloniki. I have been working in public primary education for the past five years, while I have also taught adolescents and adults in non-formal education settings. In addition, I have worked as a social street worker with vulnerable social groups.

I have received funding for the design and implementation of the Erasmus+ KA1 program “CommuniCaring: In Favor of Peace Speech (ComCare)” [01/11/2024 – 31/08/2025]. So far, I have published two papers in peer-reviewed journals, six papers in conference proceedings, and have delivered two presentations at conferences and public events.

I am a founding and active member of the Network of Educators with Freinet Pedagogy in Thessaloniki (Facebook link). Finally, I have an excellent language level of English and Russian.
