Stavroula Stoumpou
Primary School Teacher
My name is Stavroula Stoumpou. I am a graduate of the Department of Primary Education at the University of Ioannina (2007–2011) with more than ten years of experience in primary education. I have served in various settings within the public school (Shadow teacher, Centers for Diagnosis and Support, Experimental Schools), as well as in Special Education centers as a Special Education teacher.
I hold two Master’s degrees in “Special Education” (University of Nicosia) and in “Educational Sciences: Creative Learning Environments and Play” (University of Thessaly). I have attended specialised training in intercultural education and the education of refugee children (Laboratory of Greek Language and Multilingualism, University of Thessaly; University of the Aegean), in inclusive education (Metropolitan LLC, Bricks for Autism), in Nonviolent Communication and conflict management (KEDE, Gordon Hellas), and in educational commons (ComPra Erasmus+). I am a member of the “Volos Collaborative Network for Freinet Pedagogy” and of the network “En to Dasi to Ef: Outdoor Classes – Forest Schools – Pedagogy of Nature.”
Serving as a teacher at the 1st Experimental Primary School of Portaria, I have designed and implemented action research projects in collaboration with the Department of Early Childhood Education at the University of Thessaly. My research interests focus on Pedagogy of the Commons, Place-Based Education, and the local curriculum.
