Stelios Pantazidis
Adjunct Lecturer, Post-Doctoral Researcher
Stelios Pantazidis is an Educator and holds a PhD from the University of Thessaly (December 2023) in Educational Commons, funded by the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY). His research focused on the transfer of the “commons” paradigm as an alternative educational process within public schooling. His research interests include experiential and critical pedagogies, self-organization and co-management of knowledge by students, teacher education, and pedagogical approaches to childhood education.
He has worked as a teacher in public primary schools and in non-formal education. He has also taught courses at the Department of Early Childhood Education (University of Thessaly), the Department of Educational and Social Policy (International Hellenic University), and the Department of Primary Education (University of Western Macedonia). His teaching covered areas within Educational Sciences (Outdoor Education, Children’s Rights, Differentiated Instruction, Teaching Practicum) and Research Methodology (Action Research, Qualitative Methods, Academic Literacy). He has also supervised undergraduate theses.
Dr. Pantazidis has participated in European research programs (Horizon, Erasmus, ERC) and has published papers in academic journals (including Q1, Q2, and Q3), collective volumes, and both international and Greek conferences. He has extensive experience as a peer reviewer for several journals published by Taylor & Francis, MDPI, and various Greek academic journals. He has also secured research funding (ComCare, Erasmus+ KA1, 2024–2025).
He is a core member of the Laboratory of Sociology of Education at the University of Thessaly, the Action Research Network at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and the newly founded international network Action Learning for Democracy. He also participates as a member of international academic associations such as ISATT, IASC, and CESE.
Finally, as a practicing educator, he is a founding and core member of the Network of Teachers Inspired by Freinet Pedagogy in Thessaloniki, a core member of the Wild Pedagogies Network, and a new member of the Hellenic Network for Theatre in Education.
